ACCA's Workforce Development Initiative Wins! The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Power of A Silver Award
A top priority for the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) is to encourage more people to find rewarding careers in the HVAC industry. Because of the lack of quality training and education, business owners and customers feel the painful effects of having new equipment installed incorrectly and not to manufactures specifications. Studies show, lack of education and skills in airflow, static pressure, and refrigerant charge, results in brand new HVAC systems delivering at 57% of its rated capacity into buildings. In conjunction with ACCA's Pledge to America's Workers, which took place on July 25, 2019, at a special event at the White House, ACCA had top honors of joining President Trump, Vice President Pence, Ms. Ivanka Trump, and Cabinet members to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the White House's Pledge to America’s Workers campaign. On behalf of its members, ACCA pledged to create 75,000 new opportunities over the next five years for American students and workers, through apprenticeships and work- based learning, continuing education, on- the- job training, and re- skilling. The ASAE’s Power of A Awards, the industry’s highest honor, recognizes associations valuable contributions to their communities on a local, national and global level. The Power of A Awards acknowledges the outstanding accomplishments of associations and industry professionals who work tirelessly to solve problems, and strengthen lives, the workforce, the economy, and the world.
